I spent a day painting at Niagra Falls in early September. Amazing to witness such power and beauty. . .sometimes the mist rising out of the falls would be blown by the wind onto my picture. Birds swooped down into the mist and then rose several hundred feet into the air. Tourists from around the world gawked and took pictures. I didn’t realize until I looked at this back in my room that I had somehow captured the spirit of the falls. I had been busy trying to capture the rise and fall of the water as it spilled over the edge.
